Sheri earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from San Diego State University and was hired directly out of college as a National Account Representative for AT&T Global Information Solutions and moved to San Francisco, where she sold and managed computers systems and software. She eventually returned to southern California where she continued in software sales until her mother became ill and she resigned to be able to spend time with her mother during this difficult time.
Sheri transferred her exceptional sales and marketing skills to her teaching and sees herself as selling her products to skeptical customers who have not yet learned how her product can improve their lives. She particularly enjoys teaching her Expository Reading and Writing Course which is designed as a basic and remedial class to give students the basic skills required for success in college prep courses and with the main goal of preparing them to take her AP Literature Classes. The number of students in her AP Literature class increases each year, as have the percentage of pass rates, allowing large numbers of students to earn college credit for English.
Sheri also hosts a weekly, two hour after school Boot Camp for all of her students, allowing her extra time to fill the gaps and provide help with their writing, share their drafts with others, complete rewrites and receive individualized assistance. She also remains on campus from 3 PM to 8 PM every Wednesday to offer additional tutoring to any student who comes, regardless if the student is one of her students or not.
Sheri also acts as the Advisor for the Fine Arts Club and the California Scholarship Federation.
