Lori Sase has been a math teacher at Woodbridge High School in Irvine, CA for 15 years and was nominated by a young woman who recently graduated with honors from California State University, Fullerton. This young person wrote, “I found new ambition through Ms. Sase’s support and devotion to my academic and personal success. If I was sick and had to miss school, I would come to school for the hour of her class. Not only did my grades dramatically improve, so did my confidence. There is something very powerful in feeling that you have someone in your life that truly cares for you and deeply believes in you. She gave me the strength I needed to overcome the obstacles in my life. Because of her personal influence and encouragement, I found faith in myself and came to believe I could achieve academic success and hope for the best in my future. One of the most beautiful things about Ms. Sase is her dedication to each of her students as individuals. I am just one of an army of students who would confess that she changed their lives, as well.”
