Michelle was born in South Korea and moved to Guam at the age of five with her family. She attended California State University in Sacramento where she received in B.A. in Psychology.
She was inspired to teach after working as a counselor and teacher’s aide at a group home in Elk Grove, California for teenage boys who were diagnosed as Severely Emotionally Disturbed. Under the mentorship of the Head Teacher, she was asked to choose and teach one subject to the students at the home � she chose Social Studies.
Following her work at the group home, she moved to San Francisco to study history at San Francisco State University, where she earned a B.A. in History as well as her teaching credential. She is currently on the faculty at George Washington High School in San Francisco, California where she teaches Modern World History and AP Psychology. She has been teaching for over twelve years.
