Brian graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a degree in English and minors in African American Studies and Jazz Studies. He also earned his Masters Degree in English Education from the University of Minnesota.
Brian’s first teaching assignment was during a University of Minnesota Summer youth program where he taught creative writing to students ages 7-12. Brian taught at two separate alternative schools in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota before going to Mexico where he taught English as a Foreign Language. He has been an English teacher at Desert Mirage High School since 2005 where he teaches Advanced Placement English and Composition and Expository Writing. Brian has run several after school programs including Theater of the Oppressed.
